4-8-8: Eilonwy (or, as she is known by herself, "EYE-nuh-nee") finally took her inevitable jump in the lake today (at point 5 on this map). The water is about six inches deep (I can assure you that she would not have fallen in had it been deeper), so she just hit bottom and I swooped her out and stood her up. She was cold and sort of wheezed for about 10 seconds, and then she was fine. Not one squeak. So I picked her up and headed straight home. She wanted to play in the playground as we passed it: that's how beaten up she was. Just past the playground, she said, "Ga. Yeaaah." Which means, "Water. Yup." Pretty matter-of-fact.
